Happy New Year! 2017 Top 5 Recipes!

Happy New Year from bakeitfab! Thank you to all who have subscribed, experimented with recipes, commented, and followed along. I do appreciate your support very much and I hope you have enjoyed being here as much as I have. There are more wonderful recipes to share with you in 2018 and lots of plans for bakeitfab in the new year.  I’m excited about all that’s coming up and I hope you will continue to be inspired to improve your skills with bakeitfab!

Choosing 5 recipes from the collection I’ve posted over the past year was no easy task! I love all of the recipes I’ve shared so I had to set some ground rules for selection: each recipe had to provide a completed item rather than just a component, only one chocolate choice was allowed, only one choice requiring yeast was eligible, and at least one choice had to be made of components that could be made completely ahead and required minimal assembly at the last minute!

So! The top 5 recipes of 2017 are:

Cinnamon Rolls

This yeasted entry is worth the effort! These are without a doubt the best cinnamon rolls I have ever made and being a pastry chef for more than two decades, I have made a lot of cinnamon rolls! They require a bit of effort but you will be rewarded for your labors with every bite!

Updated German Chocolate Cake

So difficult for me to choose just one item containing chocolate but this cake was one of the most popular posts of the year. Moist and delicious, this cake is sure to please.

Biscotti Quadrati

Our trip to Rome this fall provided these extraordinary treats. I could not stop eating these and you won’t be able to either! Buttery, nutty, and just the right amount of nutty chewiness makes these cookies an absolute “must make”.

Strawberry Lemon Pavlovas

The most popular post of the year were these strawberry lemon pavlovas. Make each component in advance and life is easier when it’s serving time!

Sticky Date Pudding

This wonderful dessert, courtesy of Great Britain, was another very popular post this year and is absolutely one of my favorite fall desserts. Warm, moist, and deliciously sweet, this dessert works as a family style dessert or is equally elegant as a plated dessert.

What were your top 5 recipes from this past year? What would you like to see from bakeitfab in 2018? I’d love to hear from you. Remember, baking takes practice and patience. Make one of your resolutions this year to improve your baking skills – bakeitfab is here to help! Happy New Year!
